The accounts Antidote connects

Antidote and Google Analytics

The Google Analytics connection reads visits and engagement from your GA4 account. You get reports on channels and landing pages to see what happens after people reach your website.

What it reads

Antidote uses read access to GA4 to report on channels, landing pages, engagement and the conversion events already collected. These reports help you inspect what happens during a website visit. Read them alongside Search Console, which describes how people find you in search. Clicks and visits measure different parts of that journey.

Setting it up

Give the team the correct GA4 property identifier. We check that the Analytics Data API is enabled, add service account access and test the connection in Settings. If an account detail or permission is missing, you get a setup error. Resolve that before treating the report as a picture of your traffic.

  1. Identify the right GA4 account and property identifier.
  2. We check the API and add read access.
  3. Check the connection in Settings.
  4. Read the report and confirm which events your site collects.

What it cannot measure

Reading Analytics does not install your website’s tracking tag or fix conversion tracking. The reports depend on what your GA4 account collects. They cannot prove a particular piece caused revenue or count unmeasured offline enquiries. Check event setup with whoever maintains your tracking when a figure seems incomplete or unexpected.

Common questions

Will this install website tracking?

No. It reads an existing GA4 account. Your tracking tag and events need separate setup.

Can it report conversions?

It can read conversion information your GA4 account already collects. Check that those events measure what your business needs.

Does it change our Analytics account?

The connection uses read access to retrieve reports.
