Content approval

Content approval is the decision that a draft is ready to publish. A reviewer checks the words, images, facts and account before giving permission, under the publishing rule agreed for that work.

In plain terms

Approving a topic is different from reading a finished caption, checking its image and confirming its account or page. A useful workflow makes the object of the decision clear. Approval gives permission for a piece to go out. Publishing is the separate step of sending it to an account or website, which can still fail after approval.

How to check it

Define who checks factual claims, who checks permissions and who can authorise publication. Ask the reviewer to read the full piece rather than a notification headline. Keep the resulting state separate from delivery: a provider may refuse an approved item, so a decision receipt alone does not show that the post is live.
